Today I reintroduced the #PRICEDAct with my colleague Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-AR-4) to rein in Big Pharma and help lower the costs of certain prescription drugs. #FairDrugPricing

Extended exclusivity allows Big Pharma to prevent competition and pad their pockets. The #PRICEDAct will end special protections for biologics, a class of bio-based drugs, by reducing their exclusivity from 12 years to 5 years.

The cost of inaction is high. In 2017, ALL of the top 10 highest-expenditure drugs in Medicare Part B were biologic products. Biologics can be expensive even with private insurance, with some treatments costing tens of thousands of dollars per year.

The bipartisan PRICED Act will limit the monopoly power of Big Pharma and will enable small manufacturers to enter the market, saving the federal government at least $7B over 10 years, according to estimates from @HHS. #FairDrugPricing

Today is truly a historic day for Puerto Rico’s future. After months of sincere discussions and negotiations, we can proudly announce that we have reached an agreement on a path forward to solve once and for all the Island’s political status dilemma.

The status quo is unsustainable and until it is addressed, #PuertoRico’s economy and social development will continue to lag. Only Statehood will give us full representation, full access to equality, and allow us to have full political, economic, and social development.

This is the first time that we have a binding plebiscite with only non-territorial options: Statehood, Independence & Sovereignty in Free Association with the United States & in this way honors the mandate of the people in favor of statehood, providing a mechanism to achieve it.

I endorse this historic effort—supported by Puerto Rico’s Governor and Resident Commissioner—to end the unequal, undemocratic status quo on the island. I hope the people of PR choose statehood. It would improve quality of life on the island & be good for our nation.

For the implementation of ARPA-H to be thoughtful and intentional it must be located outside of Washington, D.C. North Texas is ready.
Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX-32) and Rep. Marc Veasey (D-TX-33) lets work together to get this done.

I agree with @ColinAllredTX - “We have seen this model can succeed with the Defense Department’s similar agency, so let’s put North Texas’ best and brightest minds in biotech research to work solving our health care problems.”

This has bipartisan support and it can, and should, come to North Texas.

This would stand up a new federal research initiative to leverage federal dollars to help researchers in North Texas, and across America, lead the world in groundbreaking, life-saving health care research.

I sent a letter to @SecAFOfficial with Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) calling for a meeting between Air Force/Air National Guard officials and Southeast Georgia constituents to discuss the need to keep Savannah's Combat Readiness Training Center open.

Savannah's CRTC is the country's most heavily utilized Air Force training facility.

Thank you Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA), Rep. Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (D-GA-2), Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA-8), @Rep. David Scott (D-GA-13), Rep. A. Drew Ferguson (R-GA-3), Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA-11), Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA-12), Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA-4), Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA-10), and Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA-6) for signing on.

That’s right, Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA-1) – for GA and our nation’s security, the Savannah CRTC must remain open. It provides high-quality training for Airmen, and is a critical part of the military ecosystem in coastal GA.

The greatest choice a woman can make is becoming a mother.

It’s hypocritical that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14) had the choice to become a mother, but she doesn’t want you to have that same choice. Everyone, no matter where they come from should have the right to make their own decision and choice about their own reproductive rights. #ProtectRoe

Also way to just vote against babies getting access to formula Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14).

So Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) what are exactly are you asking here? Do we just starve these babies?
The parents are locked up they can’t go shop for an alternative. So you are asking for the government to deliberately starve children?
It’s gross, it’s anti-American to even think that.

I don’t care what the polling shows on this. We don’t starve babies… that is a basic human rule.

So starve the babies? That’s what we’re going with.

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ-7) Do you think their candidates agree with this? Is this what they signed up to do? Run for Congress to help Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) starve babies?

It is not acceptable that 68,000 Americans die each year because they cannot afford the health care they desperately need. It’s time to end this international embarrassment. It’s time to guarantee health care in the United States to all. It’s time for Medicare for All.

Proud to join you on this, Sen. Bernard (Bernie) Sanders (ID-VT). Everyone should have access to the quality care they need, when they need it. #MedicareForAll

The answer to America's unjust health care system and our ongoing public health crisis is Medicare for All. I'm proud to cosponsor this legislation to make universal, affordable health coverage a right for everyone.

I'm so thrilled to see the Senate holding a historic hearing on Medicare for All in the Budget Committee!

This is a major step forward — and I applaud my friend and partner in this fight Sen. Bernard (Bernie) Sanders (ID-VT) on this step to guarantee health care as a human right.

Good to know.

This kind of corporate greed is killing rural America—putting generational ranchers out of business and hurting consumers with inflated prices at the beef case. Congress needs to act on Sen. Charles E. (Chuck) Grassley (R-IA) and my bipartisan spot pricing bill immediately.

If the report is accurate, the Supreme Court is poised to inflict the greatest restriction of rights in the past fifty years – not just on women but on all Americans.

The Republican-appointed Justices’ reported votes to overturn Roe v. Wade would go down as an abomination, one of the worst and most damaging decisions in modern history.

Several of these conservative Justices, who are in no way accountable to the American people, have lied to the U.S. Senate, ripped up the Constitution and defiled both precedent and the Supreme Court’s reputation.

This is at the expense of tens of millions of women who could soon be stripped of their bodily autonomy and the constitutional rights they’ve relied on for half a century.

The party of Lincoln and Eisenhower has now completely devolved into the party of Trump. Every Republican Senator who supported Sen. McConnell and voted for Trump Justices pretending that this day would never come will now have to explain themselves to the American people.

I will not be participating in the illegitimate and Democrat-sympathizing House Jan. 6 committee panel.

The committee has been a sham since its origins. Its entire purpose is to destroy President Trump and his supporters, intimidate members of Congress, and

distract Americans from real issues that are destroying this country.

The committee operates with the same kind of bias present at the Salem Witch Trials. Everyone is guilty and must demonstrate their innocence. They are basing their witch-hunt on dubious media accounts.

How the media received this letter and had their stories written before it was shared with me is concerning and reveals foul play.

Republican leadership should remove Representatives Cheney and Kinzinger from representing the party in this committee.

These are two are trying to divide and burn the Republican Party. The American people and the party deserve better.

Elon Musk and a handful of billionaires now have dangerous influence over the most powerful online platforms. They can't be trusted, and self-regulation has failed. We must pass laws to protect privacy and promote algorithmic justice for internet users, especially for kids.

A short list of people who might care more about *real* justice than Sen. Edward J. (Ed) Markey (D-MA)'s phony "algorithmic justice"

-Victims of the national crime wave
-Victims of cartels, human traffickers, crimes by illegals
-Victims of abortion, millions

People around the world know they can enter our country illegally because President Biden won’t stop them. The Cartels know it too. Ending Title 42 is wrong and will invite another lawless surge in crossings.

When the @GOP is trying to cover something up, they attack immigrants. While @HouseDemocrats are working to address these issues, Kevin and his friends are playing make believe, with theatrics at the border. If they actually want to address immigration, then come to the table.

Until then, an important step in fixing our immigration system is ending Title 42 so that people seeking asylum out of credible fear can be heard and find safety. America is a beacon of hope and we need real solutions, not more vitriol and false narratives.

Shame on @HouseGOP for their fear-mongering. The bottleneck at our ports of entry is a direct result of Trump’s failed & divisive border policies.

Ending #Title42 will be the first step toward restoring humanity to our immigration system for asylum seekers & refugees.

🧵 Excited to host Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX-23) around Central Florida for our #BPCACE trip!

Our first stop was the Dundee Citrus Growers Association. The growers told us they are facing a difficult year due to #Greening and industry supply issues. We will continue supporting them.

Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX-23) We took the @RideSunRail from Poinciana to the Kissimmee station to speak with representatives at @Amtrak about exciting new developments in transportation.

Proud to show my colleague one of the many ways Central Floridians get around!

After a meeting with @SFWMD to learn about wildlife and the ecosystem of the cypress forests and swamps, we're taking a helicopter ride over Lake Tohopekaliga and a restored section of the Kissimmee River.

We're at @valenciacollege for a working lunch with reps from @LockheedMartin and Custom Metal Designs — a small business in Central Florida that focuses on industrial automation.

At Valencia, students can earn industry-recognized certifications + begin a career in manufacturing.

It was also great to meet students enrolled in the program and tour the advanced manufacturing center to see firsthand how they utilize industry-recognized technology.

Next stop: @NEOcityFL!

We discussed their plan to combine manufacturing, economic development, and job creation while connecting the community and promoting the region. During our tour of @SkyWaterFoundry, we also got a closer look at their semiconductor manufacturing facility.

Veterans are a major part of our #FL9 community, so I am honored that we had the opportunity to tour the Lake Nona VA Medical Center and speak to veterans receiving care.

They proudly serve 400,000 veterans in Central Florida and provide exceptional services.

We are wrapping up our eventful day with a tour of @MCO's Terminal C expansion — the largest expansion project ever undertaken at the airport.

When it opens this summer, it will feature state-of-the-art technology to accommodate an additional 10-12 million annual passengers.

@MCO Thanks to @BPC_Bipartisan for organizing this #BPCACE trip and Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX-23) for spending the day in Central Florida with #TeamSoto!

I look forward to visiting #TX23 in the near future to learn about the issues affecting San Antonians.

Whether you're in Florida or Texas, you know the importance of reliable transportation.

Great to see the latest innovations happening at @Amtrak in #FL9!

Stop number 5⃣ for the day! A lot of great industry and community development happening at @NEOcityFL.

Thanks for hosting me Rep. Darren Soto (D-FL-9)! Looking forward to the next leg of our #BPCACE trip in #TX23. @BPC_Bipartisan
