Yesterday, I sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin calling on him to suspend the vaccine mandate and answer specific questions about the readiness impacts of the Biden administration’s mandate.

At a time when our adversaries continue to increase their quantitative and qualitative advantage against our forces, we should seek to ensure that no policy, even unintentionally, hinders military readiness.

My full letter below:

I totally agree with Sen. James M. (Jim) Inhofe (R-OK).

The mandates are not only destructive to military morale and readiness, they are totally pointless.

Tune in today at 12:00PM ET as @SenatorToomey and I lead a press conference to discuss the Democrats’ proposal to expand the reporting of private, confidential taxpayer information from financial institutions to the IRS.

Democrats’ proposal requiring the IRS to collect even more bank account information from Americans is radical & one of the most significant privacy invasions in American history.

RT if you agree ⇨ The IRS should not be surveilling your bank accounts.

I AGREE.

This is why last month, I introduced an MTI in @housebudgetGOP markup that would have stopped the radical spying on the American people by the @IRSnews. DEMs on the committee voted against my motion, and it failed.

The IRS should NOT be surveilling your bank account.

The IRS has no business spying on your bank account!

Dangerous government overreach at its worst.

I just took to the Senate floor to begin the process to consider the Freedom to Vote Act.

The Senate will vote on moving forward on this bill on Wednesday.

I’m ready to advance the Freedom to Vote Act in the Senate on Wednesday and I urge my colleagues to allow debate on this critical bill.

Nothing is more crucial to our democracy than the right to vote.

BREAKING: The Senate just confirmed Gustavo Gelpí—a firm believer in equality under the law—as a judge for the First Circuit.

He’s only the second of our fellow Americans from Puerto Rico to be confirmed to this important court.

It’s great to see a defender of civil rights like Judge Gelpí confirmed by the Senate to sit on the First Circuit.

Happy birthday to my lifelong friend Rep. Young Kim (R-CA-39)! From raising kids to becoming the first Korean American women to serve in Congress together. Wishing you the best day! 🎉🎈

Thank you, Rep. Michelle Steel (R-CA-48)! We’ve come a long way over the past few decades and I’m so grateful for your friendship.

@PeteButtigieg's history-making presidential run is getting its own documentary. advocate.com → Watch Pete Buttigieg on the Presidential Trail in 'Mayor Pete' Trailer

Secretary Pete doesn’t have time for the supply chain crisis during paternity leave, but of course made room in his schedule for a self-promotional documentary.

This attack on @SecretaryPete for taking family leave to care for newborn twins is loathsome, but also consistent for House Republicans, who overwhelmingly voted against giving Americans universal paid leave, a benefit enjoyed by the workers of every other industrialized nation.

Watch Pete Buttigieg on the Presidential Trail in 'Mayor Pete' Trailer
The film shows the behind-the-scenes of some of the then-candidate's lowest points.

Guard and Reserve members swear to defend this country just as their Active Duty counterparts do, and they deserve the honor of a burial at state veterans cemeteries.

I led a bipartisan, bicameral letter today with Sen. Margaret (Maggie) Hassan (D-NH) calling on @DeptVetAffairs to enact reforms that would ensure these men and women who honorably served our nation have this right.

Joined my colleagues in calling on the VA to grant eligibility to servicemembers of Reserve Components and the National Guard for burial in state veterans’ cemeteries.

This is about ensuring these men and women receive the recognition they deserve, close to their loved ones.

There is talk of watering this IRS reporting requirement down.

That’s not good enough.

Weaponizing the IRS to spy on everyday Americans doesn’t work for me, and doesn’t work for the people in Wyoming.

nytimes.com → Biden’s Proposal to Empower I.R.S. Rattles Banks and Their Customers

#4A #GetAWarrant The 4th Amendment does not say, “If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.”

Those targeted for surveillance are among those targeted to fund Bernie’s Agenda. This is a proposal to spy on ordinary Americans - not “millionaires and billionaires”.

Biden’s Proposal to Empower I.R.S. Rattles Banks and Their Customers
To help fund its new initiatives, the Biden administration wants banks to report more customer information. Account holders aren’t happy.

States like Texas are making it harder to vote and are approving extremely gerrymandered maps.

We need action to protect our democracy.

It's why I'm leading an effort with 39 of my House colleagues to urge the Senate to pass the #FreedomToVoteAct. cnn.com → House Democrats urge Senate colleagues to pass voting rights bill this week

North Carolina is no stranger to voter suppression tactics and extreme gerrymandering.

That's why I joined my colleague Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX-32) in urging the Senate to pass the #FreedomToVoteAct. We can't wait another moment to protect the sacred right to vote.

House Democrats urge Senate colleagues to pass voting rights bill this week
A group of House Democrats, led by Rep. Colin Allred of Texas, sent a letter to their Senate colleagues on Monday morning urging them to pass voting rights legislation known as the "Freedom to Vote Act" when it comes up for a vote this week.

Colin Powell was a trailblazing public servant and soldier-statesman. As the first Black U.S. Secretary of State, Powell reflected our nation’s highest values and inspired millions of people around the world. A heavy loss for all Americans — may his memory be a blessing.

TUNE IN: I will be live with @TeamCavuto on @FoxBusiness at 12:30 PM to discuss U.S.-China tensions.

Remember when everything was affordable during the Trump Administration?

America has lost a trailblazing leader with the passing of Colin Powell. My full statement:
