Today, Senate Republicans proved that they are ready to ban access to safe abortions nationwide. We cannot stand silent during this blatant attack on women in our country. Access to safe abortions is a basic and fundamental right!
For years I’ve been a steadfast advocate of the health care Planned Parenthood provides—especially their location in New Haven, which I’ve visited many times. This afternoon I went a few blocks from the Capitol to visit their DC location & thank their incredible staff.
This has been a really tough few weeks for providers all across the country. From the bottom of my heart, especially with today’s vote on, I wanted to say thank you. We’ll never stop fighting for reproductive freedom.

I'm extremely disappointed that debate on thewas blocked today, especially in the midst of imminent, Republican-led efforts to ban abortion services across the country. I trust the women of New Mexico to make their own decisions, and the federal government should, too.
A woman has a right to make her own health care decisions without the government getting between her and her medical providers. That right should not depend on what state she lives in.
On the record! The Senate just failed to protect abortion rights despite draconian threats from SCOTUS. But this isn't a one & done. The fight continues. The Senate must vote onevery week until this fundamental right is enshrined in law. No backing down & no compromises!
Shameful. Without, everyone is at risk of losing the right to make their own decisions about their bodies, lives, and futures.
But this isn’t over. We will keep fighting to enshrine Roe and ensure every person’s right to reproductive freedom.
